About a week ago, my friend and I decided to book a trip to Colorado because one of our goals this year is to travel more often. We chose Colorado so we could experience a true winter wonderland. I felt like we flew at a perfect time of the year because it was right after the holiday madness and right before the heavy snowfall.
When we flew to Denver, we decided to not stay in the city which was the best decision ever. After we picked up our rental car, we drove to a small town called Golden. I can’t describe how cute this town was and we got so lucky that the Christmas lights were still up, so everything still looked magical.
We ended up staying at a dreamy inn called The Dove Inn, as you guys saw on my Instagram. Everything about the inn was perfect: the location (a 2 minute walk to downtown Golden), the suites, and just everything. To give you guys a quick history of The Dove Inn, it was built in 1866 and was recently remodeled. Every suite of the inn had themes. For instance, we stayed at the Aspen suite which had a cute fireplace, bathtub, and a private bathroom. The way this suite was laid out was so adorable. It even had two antlers hanging on one of the walls to give the room an ‘Aspen’ feel.
When you step out of the suite and head downstairs, you will find the common area and the kitchen. I do have two notes that I really wanted to highlight: the music and the scented candles. Walking downstairs was like walking into Anthropologie. The candles and music made the inn feel so homey that it gave you a guilty feeling to leave. My friend and I always contemplated on whether we should leave the inn to explore Colorado or not because it was that breathtaking. If I were to pay Colorado a visit again, I would definitely stay here again.
