VISIT MICHIGAN – TRAVEL GUIDE (PART 2)

Visit MichiganThis was my first time going to Michigan and I’m glad I went at this time of the year. If I were ever to go back to Michigan, it would definitely be in the fall. For starters, they have apple cider donuts – which is the best thing you could possibly have. Something that shocked me was how different the lifestyle was in Michigan. I felt like it was more slow-paced and less crowded when compared to cities in Texas.

We mostly just stayed in the southern part of Michigan since the trip wasn’t as long as we would have wanted it to be. Although we only stayed in the south, there was still plenty of things to do, which I have added below.

COFFEE SHOPS

Visit MichiganOne of the coffee shops we stopped at was Mighty Good Coffee in downtown Ann Arbor. This was such a cute coffee shop! I ended up trying the ‘brown sugar maple syrup’ coffee just to give it a try and loved it! I’m all about coffee shops and might I add, a day for me can never start without a cup of coffee. Other coffee shops I would recommend to try would be Comet Coffee, Joe & Rosie, Crazy Wisdom Bookstore & Tearoom, and of course Mighty Good Coffee. Visit MichiganVisit Michigan

SCENERY

I fell in love with how many scenic routes you can take in southern Michigan. My favorite route was the Hudson River drive from Ann Arbor to Dexter. We saw a lot of deer on this route, especially crossing the roads. We ended up stopping our car on the side of a few roads just walk around and enjoy the scenery. My favorite part was when we would walk in between the trees and the leaves would fall on us followed by a cool breeze.

CIDER MILLS

Visit Michigan

Michigan is filled with cider mills and orchards. One place that is a must in Michigan is Dexter Cider Mill. I am speechless when it comes to this cider mill. The minute you park and get out of your car, you’ll start to smell the apple cider sugar donuts. Out of all the donuts we had in Michigan, nothing compared to the ones here. I fell in love that if I were to ever come back to Michigan, it would be for this place. I mean, we all just fell in love with it that we made sure we stopped to say goodbye before we flew back to Dallas.

Orchards and Cider Mills I would recommend to visit would be Alber Orchard & Cider Mill, Plymouth Orchards & Cider Mills, and Erwin Orchards.

OTHER

Visit MichiganFrom cute little houses, to the perfect brunch, to a walk at the University of Michigan, our days were filled with such joy. We ended up eating brunch at Aventura. It was the cutest little place. I would also recommend trying Sava’s, Zola Bistro, Ama Bistro, and Gratzi. Visit MichiganVisit Michigan

Visit MichiganThis trip definitely was a memorable one, and will definitely plan another #motherdaughtertrip next year. One thing that made me laugh about this trip was the moment we all showed up at the airport. My mom and I were purposely tried to match. She wore a polka dot top to match my pearl sweatshirt and sweatpants. When we went to the airport to meet up with Sydney and her mom we noticed that they have done the same as well.Visit Michigan
