Get Inspired: Tips for Taking Your Graduation Pictures

The Perfect Graduation Picture I told myself I was not going to take any graduation pictures this year, boy was I wrong. As the weeks to graduation were approaching, people kept asking me whether I was going to do a graduation photoshoot or not. At first I was not really feeling it because I told myself it wasn’t a big deal – I personally did not want to, and I realized that a lot of people have the same feelings as well.

It’s not just that, I feel like graduation photos all turn out the same – and I did not want that. I wanted mine to be more unique… more me. I went on Pinterest hoping to maybe get inspired, and don’t get me wrong the photo ideas were beautiful but they did not stand out to me.

The Perfect Graduation Picture I sat there thinking on how to take my graduation photos until I was able to figure it out. Tips on getting the perfect graduation photos will be located at the end of the blog post. The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture The Perfect Graduation Picture

Tip #1 The most important tip is to be you. What makes you who you are? Whether it is going to the gym, reading books, etc. let the photo do all the talking. When I sat there thinking of what makes me who I am, I immediately said coffee and flowers. I am a huge coffee lover and a fanatic when it comes to flowers… especially pink roses. Also, I am the type of person you can find at a coffee shop, so I chose to do my grad photos there. I was going to do pink roses and my favorite coffee shop, Magnolias – Sous Le Pont, but I felt like the colors would be too harsh on the colors of my cap and gown.

Tip #2 You want to show people what your story is. The pictures need to tell a story. Whether you want to use your University as the background or a background of your choice, make sure the photo has more to say than just the snapshot of the picture taken. If possible, try to include the degree you are soon to get and be creative with it!

Tip #3 Another tip is for you to show your joy!! You are just about to graduate, a serious face is not what people want to look at. Put on that cap and gown and smile!

Tip #4 And of course the last tip is to not forget to get a close-up of your cap and a portrait of you.
