Happy Sunday everyone! Today’s blog post is dedicated to Erica’s Table of 20, a lunch I attended last Saturday.
First thing to know is that Erica’s Table of 20 is an intimate luncheon amongst professional men and women within various industries who are able to speak transparently and honestly about their career journey. The 24th Erica’s Table of 20 was held on July 22nd at Neiman Marcus. Only 20 people are accepted to attend the luncheon. Guests always leave feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to take their journey to greater heights.
The 24th Erica’s Table of 20 special guests include: Shavone Riggins; CEO of Curlkalon and Megan Willis; Co- Founder of Celebrate Dallas.
Honestly, this event was different than any other event I have ever attended. Influential people who faced several obstacles in their life were sitting all around me. Each person sat on the table and talked about their personal lives. Some of the stories I heard that day were so empowering. I learned that everyone struggles to get where they want to be and it’s not easy, sometimes you have to be the person who turns the table.
From here on, my favorite stories to listen to that day were definitely everyone’s ”why” moment. What I mean by the ”why” moment is the time you realized whatever it was you were doing was something you didn’t truly love. It’s like a wake-up call and a reevaluation of your own life. 
Love, power, and passion was what this table held. Hearing all of the stories was a nice reminder for all of us to never lose passion or motivation. And the most important thing is to remember that everyone has a story and a battle to fight.
What makes you differentiate from everyone else is not the battle you fight. It’s the actions you choose to shape whom you will become. Life is short, so do what makes you happy!
